Hey every one I’m new to fishing. I’m looking on buying a saltwater rod and reel. I’ve been trout fishing and loved it but season is over so want to keep on fishing. So I want to get a Phenix spinning rod for salt water I want to use it for swim baits and jigging more than anything. But want to have the power on the rod incase I get some thing big any suggestions. I was looking at the M1 but not sure if it’s good for jigging

For surf fishing you might want to go longer. Try a Phenix Trifecta lite or Pro. Lots of folks like the 903 and 904. Also, check this site if you are new to surf. lots of good info including gear recs. https://surffishingsocalsd.com/
