Does anyone have any suggestions for limiting lures from slipping off on hooks.
It seems like every time I use a straight shank worm hook my lures seem to slip/fall down. More specifically when I’m drop -shotting.
I’m thinking a light wire flipping hook would work best to keep it snug on the hook.
Any suggestions ?

Part of the game. You can run the worm up through the knot to help it stay longer. Then as it wears, bite the head off and re hook. Some hooks have small wire on them to hold the worm. I wouldn’t try modding anything, by the time you rig something, you’ll probably break it off anyways.

or you could put a drop of superglue on the shank and head of the worm to make it stay longer. I personally like to use wide gap offset shank hooks for all my plastics, and found that Owner makes Rig N hooks down to size 4. Those help delay plastics "droop" too.

Thanks for the advice. I guess like you said it’s just part of the game.
A small snap swivel can to the same thing too although it won't fit as well under a cone sinker.

Depending on the lure you're using, you might consider using a Mosquito or Octopus hook for dropshotting, and just hooking the bait through the nose. Or as others have suggested, hunt down some small ewg hooks.
I just got some of these in a size 4..they are a very light wire. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CWS ... th=1&psc=1
Since Eagle Claw discontinued my favorite ewg hook,
These have become my go-to hooks for 3 inch bass assassins, in a 1/0 size:
unless you need it to be weedless I use a mosquito hook and hook the lure like it's a dead minnow, from the chin, out the top of the head. I use offset worm hooks for weedless dropshotting, sometimes even EWG. If you are pulling through so many weeds that your lure is getting pulled down the hook you should probably fish a different technique or location...

I was dropping shotting with a #2 straight shank worm hook. I’m liking all the ideas being thrown around. Ideally I would like to get some hooks already with the bait keeper on it.
In the mean time I’ll try these from Amazon and see if they work. If not, I may just try making my own keeper on the shank.
If you want weedless hook, I like roboworm hook the best I normally use #2. To be warm this type hook would destroy your plastic quicker than mosquito nose hook.

Good point, I can see hooks like the one above would destroy it if you have to pull it off.
On another note, is that a “drop shot holder” on your rod?

Nah drop shot with two tag end gonna be hard to do that hack. Beside that I’m not so sure what OP really mean by slipping off hook, by the hook eye or hook point?

You ever drop shot weedless with a worm hook? A wide gap worm hook can be a game changer for drop shotting in junk especially with baits like lake fork. I forgot he specifically mentioned drop shot though.

I always dropshoting with weedless hook. My 2nd favorite is Gamakatsu widegap #2. I also use the same type as owner down shot offset hook. My worm usually soft hand pour which last one fish per worm for nose hook. I can manage a few more fish per plastic with weedless hook type.
I switch to roboworm rebarb hook when start using Zman Elaztech which harder to skin hook and always leave hook point out.
I don’t wanna say his technique is wrong but dropshot around weed, you have to find a hole and let the worm work in that hole, reel in fast and cast to different spot, if you keep working the lure in through weed no matter what type hook you won’t be able to go pass it without damaging the worm.

Another idea is to use TPE (thermoplastic elastomer e.g. Zman, Rapala Crush City, ) baits. If they come off the hook, they will float to the top and you can just retrieve them. Super durable too. Just don't let them contact other soft plastic baits, they will melt into one big gooey mess.
