Murray report March 22

Made it out to Lake Murray for the first time with John W. What a nice lake. Met VinnyBass first thing and had a good chat and we went to the water with a clear plan. Had a great time buzzing about and trying to catch, well, anything. We picked up one nice 2.5# bass early in our day on a small crankbait and figured that was a sign of things to come. It wasn't. We got one more almost to the boat, but it got away at the last minute. Water temp was 62F getting on the water at 0730 and about 65F at 1100. Wind was light and variable, but seemed from the north early and then switched a bit to be almost SW getting off the water. Talked to one person who caught 5 bass and another who caught 0 trout. Let's see if someone else had a winning pattern.

It was great meeting you guys today.
Trust me, it’s been an unusual slow start this
year for many of the guys I know that fish there…including myself. Better fishing no doubt has to be coming soon as the weather starts to warm up.
Thanks for sharing and tight lines always. :-)

Not to be picky but the “caught 5” guy caught trout. He actually laughed and said he gave up bass fishing, too hard. After my day yesterday…🤔

Still fun and loving my new fishfinder. And meeting Vinny Bass was cool.

I’m glad you like your new fishfinder. Always fun to check out different water depths, structure and fish alerts… but It’s too bad it couldn’t alert you of an “excessive talking Vinny alert” when we met …..ha ha
Again, it was great meeting you guys and hopefully your next trip down to Murray the bass will be more cooperative. :-)

Show me one fisherman who doesn’t have many stories to tell… 😜

I would love to get Murray wired like you and Dannicus. It’s such an easy trip for me from Bay Park! And despite the interruptions, it’s nice having cell reception to keep me out of trouble at work.

That's funny it was trout. I may have been hearing poorly. My wife has suggested I may need help with my hearing, or something like that. Ahahaha.
