Baseball Season
I do not know what to expect from the Padres and was sad to see Soto, Hader and a few others leave,
but after last season, they hopefully will be a more improved team.(I did say hopefully)
I know to many baseball if not as exciting as football, but I always like sports and ready to root the Padres on
and hopefully not complain all season on how bad they are playing...ha ha
I know that Butch aka @Midnightpass will be rooting on his Dodgers with all that
talent they have now.
Are there any other teams out there that some of you guys will be rooting for?

Re: Baseball Season
Padres won't miss Soto. Snell still may end up here....We got Profar back. To bad they won't be televised....

Re: Baseball Season
The lack of a tv deal is the biggest problem. It’s crazy how much money other teams have from their markets/deals. I was fine with Soto going, definitely fine with hader. The refusal to pitch more innings when needed soured my opinion of him. It just seemed “me first”. Snell is the one I want back. He finally seemed to settle in, I think he likes it here. He doesn’t seem to take change well so I hoped that might help keep him here

Re: Baseball Season
It is funny but the last 2 seasons, my better half Deb has to watch every televised Padre game. It is funny when we are planning
things as she says, "don't forget the Padres play tonight or I don't want to miss the Padre game." Heck, she even listens
to 97.3 Sports radio on the way back and forth from work to keep me updated on things...ha ha
Two seasons ago we were jumping around the living room on exciting plays and wins, especially during the playoffs. Sorry Butch,
but when we beat LA it was pretty darn sweet and very emotional as we could not believe it and celebrated like we just won
the World Series!!
Last year was tough watching them as we could almost predict a loss...especially if it went to extra innings...ha ha.
Hope this season is better and they figure out the TV thing.

Re: Baseball Season
So many times it was exciting to see Hader come in and save the game, but what an attitude he hasStinkyPinky23 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 4:10 pm https://www.si.com/mlb/padres/news/josh ... v2-3tUDm48
and hopefully someone can pick up and come through for the Padres this season. I did
say "hopefully" didn't I ? ha ha

Re: Baseball Season
Always comes with a cost. I HATED watching them trade franmil Reyes. He was a glue player in that clubhouse and beloved by the fans and his teammates. Manny Margot was another one. This time I’m sad to see them move Steven Wilson. He’s not Nolan Ryan but the guy is a straight dawg and someone I’d want on my side

Well the Dodgers have the best record in baseball... And the Padres, the worse. ...

Re: Baseball Season
The San Diego Padres lost the opening game of the MLB season Wednesday morning in Seoul, South Korea, falling 5-2 to the Los Angeles Dodgers after a ball squeaked through a hole in first baseman Jake Cronenworth’s glove, allowing LA to take the lead in the eighth inning.
The miscue came as the Dodgers were threatening in the top of the eighth. LA had just tied the game 2-2 on a sacrifice fly and had runners on first and second with one out. Then, Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux poked a dribbler to Cronenworth that looked like it would lead to an easy, inning-ending double play. But alas, the baseball gods had other plans.

Re: Baseball Season
Hope they will televise the games like in the previous years. Fun to watch 2 years ago and a little depressing last year...but at least
if nothing else is on....baseball can be entertaining at times.

So Ohtani... A gambler or just duped?... I kinda believe him, and hope he is innocent... Of course I have a horse in the race as a Dodger fan, but I also think it would be a blackeye for all of baseball.. I want to know how the money got from his bank account into the bookies...

Re: Baseball Season
It’s gonna be a long long season, and way too early to predict things… but at least it was exciting to see the Padres score a bunch of runs yesterday against the Giants. A few games there looked pretty weak where we could not get any type of clutch hits. Hopefully there will be some exciting baseball to entertain Padre fans throughout the season.
