My son and I hit San V today for one last trip before he heads back to Montana. After the bust that Murray was Tuesday I was looking forward to San V today.
No busters to speak of except for the occasional single in the bushes. We ended the day with 9 combined. Very happy to say my boy out fished me today 5-4
.
He lost a really nice fish right off the bat on a Pop-R which stunk and I got one on a SLOW rolled spinnerbait from about 25’. Nothing else until the sun came out and we started getting bit on the dropshot in 30-40’. After a “flurry” of 3 fish and a couple of break offs, things went dead until late in the day when we hit one last spot for our last hour and we proceeded to put 5 more in the boat with as many break offs in the deep bushes. Nothing big but solid, healthy 1 1/2 - 2 1/2lbrs
I think we could have got more bites if we would have kept dropshotting during the middle of the day but we tried to find something else but couldn’t. Talked to a guy off the water that got all of his fish in 60’. Sounds like it was tough for most.
