Murray 12/26 rattle trap trout

Son and I flipped a coin and it came up Murray, so we headed out not knowing anything really since I haven’t fished it since early spring. Started out throwing my trusty crawdad Red Eye shad and about 4 casts into the morning my bait got clobbered. Turned out to be about a 2lb trout. Certainly didn’t expect that! Got one little 11” bass on an Ika and that was all she wrote.
Marked endless shad and bass out in 30-40ft but they were not active at all, just hanging out down there. Could not buy a bite the rest of the day. Off the water about 1pm.
Looking forward to San V on Thu.

Looks like last week and they are supposed to plant again this week sometime, according to the DFG website

Those deep bass at Murray that loved spoons in the past years, apparently have no interest this year!

Spoons, ice jigs, dropshot, tailspins, tiny swim baits, even tried fly lining 3” Senkos down to them and they didn’t want any of it!
