San V 12/21 damn weathermen
Headed out to San V yesterday all geared up and ready for a rainy, windy, overcast day only to find blue skies and no wind
Ran to Barona and immediately had fish breaking in the bushes and just outside of them. Missed 4 fish on a small fluke, including one that sharked it from about 40’ away all the way back to the boat and swiped at it 5 or 6 times without actually getting the bait. The breakers lasted about 10min and that was it. No more breaking fish except for the occasional small fish in the bushes. Sun came up and it was slick calm again and only managed one bite. About 9:00 the wind kicked in and the bite picked up. Managed 5 drop shot fish, with another four breaking off in the deep bushes. Bounced around the lake and picked one off with a crank and one with a chatterbait. All told I landed 7, broke off 4, and missed 4 on top. Biggest four went 3.56, 2.20, 2.08, & 2.00 the rest were little 12-13” guys. Water was 58-62.

It's tough getting those guys playing in the bushes..you can hookem but getting them out is a whole different game! You're a brave man throwing cranks at San V now!

Only throwing the cranks in certain areas
in between it’s the chatterbaits or the swim jig.
