San V 12/4 and picture help

Been recovering from shoulder replacement surgery so it’s been about 6 weeks since I’ve been on the water. Hit up San V yesterday not knowing what to expect. Was surprised to see so many fish busting shad between the bushes and the shoreline. Made it very hard to get a bait to them. The fish that were busting were solid fish from 2 to 5 pounds. Had a couple swipe at my bait, but not take it, but did find one two pounder that I was able to stick. Once the sun got higher, and the busting fish quieted down, I tried everything from drop shot, to flukes, to small swim baits, to C rig, to jigs. Could not buy another bite. Even on baits I was getting steady bites on last years at this time.
Fished from 7-2 with 4 total bites and 1 measly fish. I’ll be back out there on Thu to try again.
Can anyone tell me why my pic is upside down, or better yet, how to fix it?????

Forgot to add that I messed with a 30-35lb blue cat that wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. It didn’t care at all that my boat was sitting 10ft above it. I would drop a bait in front of it and all it would do was turn around and do a 180 (kind of like my wife!

) . Messed with it for about 15min before it got tired of me and decided to move on to less annoying waters!

Total shoulder and 6 weeks….dang. It took me a lot longer than that. Almost a year in and swings are still hurting.

Thankfully my Dr has a son who is totally into fishing so he is sympathetic to me needing to get out on the water. I still have limitations but I can set the hook and fight a fish with no issues!

I flipped your pic over for you.
Shoulder replacement surgery…Wow! I bet that is tough. Hope you have a full recovery.
It will be easier for you to haul in the bass you will be catching down the road.
Thanks for sharing and Tight lines

San V was one of the few lakes to be fishing normal this year, but now it's kind of gotten into a funk. I found some of those fish breaking on the shore, behind the brush, got 2 of them to bite but couldn't get them out! Two weeks ago, I was on busters from 8-1..Last year at this time I was getting busters out in the middle of the lake! Monday's fish acted more like spring fish. I ended up with 7 fish, but I was lucky enough to get a pattern going outside of rock walls. Normally this time of year, I fall back to deep dropshotting after the busters die off..but I got no love on the d/s on Monday! Thursday is going to have a big cool down, so who knows what the fish are going to do?? Good luck!

Like you, I can normally find a really good deep D shot bite this time of year. I worked from just outside the brush out to 40’ and couldn’t even generate a bite. Definitely a different bite compared to years past.
