Barret lake in the winter?

Post by FisherMax09 »

Is this lake still good in the winter? Does it offer different fish species as well? Im looking to book a reservation in the next month so I was wondering if it would be worth it to go. I've also heard dixon is good in winter because of the trout.

Dixon, Wolford, Poway, Jennings, Santee and Cuyamaca are the best lakes for trout in San Diego county. Also Murray and Miramar are getting little DFG trout plants this week

I thought that Barrett had hunting available in the winter.

Would suck to go down and try to ninja the place and get a wad of bird shot in your back.

I was thinking of going duck hunting too.
Can I bring a rod with a lure on it to cast out to retrieve my floating dead duck in front of me?

Anyone catch it? How many people have sent their kids out on a snipe hunt?

@camobass I bought something similar to that for my son, sorry new to fishing at time, but also 100 percent new it was a gimmick. But it was fun around the house. Took the son fishing he caught 3 catfish with it all snapped his line. The line was 100 percent crap. No drag and cheapest line I ever saw.

There's a great episode of King of the Hill that is about Bobby's scout group going on a snipe hunt.
