Stripers in sd bay!

Post by Curltailgrub41480 »

Went for a spottie session today in sd bay and saw a dead striper, then I saw a guy fishing topwater for corvina and he told me he caught a 26 in striper last night in the bay on topwater! Crazy never thought they came down this far

Very cool.

They show up now and then. I saw some in the surf at Torrey Pines a few years back...thought I was hallucinating.
Then a guy posted a pic of one (on the old sdsurffising board) that he'd caught the same day....at TP.

I remember someone posted a striper caught in the same spot last year on sdfish. I wonder if they live here now or if they come and go. pretty cool either way. It would make sense that MB might have them too but haven't heard of any catches there.

It's possible, when I was there I noticed a bunch of small schools of smelt, bit like 8 or 9 inch big smelt! I'm guessing that's why there hanging out.
