I have an old but reliable Daiwa sealine-X 30 shv I took apart, cleaned, greased and added new drag washers. As I was reassembling i was having problems putting the anti-reverse dog correctly. I tried a handful of times to fix it but it’s not working and now my anti-reverse doesn’t work. Nothing is broken nor are there any missing or extra pieces.
I’ve worked on my other spinning and casting reels without problems, so I’m not new to maintenance, but this one has me perplexed. I’ve watched YouTube videos and still can’t get it to work. Shops have a 1-2 month turn around.
Was wondering if anyone here can help or offer suggestions.

Did you just hook the spring up to it?

The spring was installed correctly. The problem was the dog swung out of place and wasn’t up against the anti-reverse cog. It was an easy fix thanks to YouTube University.
