So I think based on the FY 2025 lake fee schedule I posted earlier that your time and discussion with the city had an impact as the plans are to keep the same fees as 2024? Thanks again!

I can only hope that that is the case. I think the FY 2026 Budget is not approved before April 1st. I cannot find the agenda notes from the council meetings. I still have my fingers crossed.

The majority of people that fish Barrett more than a couple times in a year will absolutely pay whatever they have to. Hard to put a cap on the feeling of going from fairweather fisherman to Bassmaster classic winner. They’ve figured that part out, obviously

Yeah, wait until they figure out Willingness to Pay (WTP) and supply and demand, and realize they can make even more profit, without having to shell out a dime.

They get some eager fresh-out-of-college-with-an-economics-degree-focused-on-efficiency-type guy working for the City of San Diego, who figures they can still charge $500 and still sell out the month of May and June, some of us may be priced out.

:-D

I’ve been in that boat before (no pun intended), when San V opened back up. Missed out on opening day tix, but found a guy selling his on Craigslist and jumped on it. I was definitely willing to pay more than it was worth, just for that one day. I justified it by comparing it to the fact I’d pay the $100 for a Barrett tix, but this time I’d have my boat?!?! Yeah, I’m in. Especially since damn near everyone I knew had gotten a spot! They may have to taper the prices down later in season, but early on they will get the buyers no problem, no matter the cost

Yea the cost to come in on the season’s opener was to some whereby I know guys who were willing to pay 3 to 4 times if not 5 times for the first month’s boat ticket. There’s been posts for anyone selling their ticket and willing to pay double or more.

One buddy was offered $400 two years ago but refused of course. I’ve had offers myself sent unsolicited for $300 and the highest was $450 all cash, but heck no, we’re using the ticket.
