https://docs.google.com/document/d/12xV ... sp=sharingI made a flyer to help anyone who wants to help more.

Please print it, drag it around, and cajole people into getting Sunrise to Sunset at Loveland.
Show lake managers we can work together even if this isn't your lake.
Or use the old-fashioned https://public-district2.sandiegocounty ... eview=true: Thank you!

Not gonna blow anyone's spot but it's good to see people out at Loveland catching fish and having fun. Families still getting down there afterwork with little time to enjoy.

Please sign the petition for these folks.

According to their 2003 water permit, which supersedes all other permits. Sweetwater is supposed to install about 55 more toilets in Loveland. They have always done everythng to keep us using the smallest amount of the 5 mile easement, including withholding toilets, taking the 2000s Bridge money to Sweetwater HQ and spending the recent 750k grant money on useless stuff close to the little trail from the parking lot. .

20. The chemical toilet facilities must be located no more than 500 feet apart at regular intervals along the shoreline at least 50 feet from the existing water level. These must be anchored to prevent overturning, and spill containment must be provided at each portable restroom. They must be moved to higher ground when the water level rises to maintain the 50 foot setback from the water.

This permit supersedes all previous domestic water supply permits issued for this public water system and shall remain in effect unless and until it is amended, revised, reissued, or declared to be null and void by the California Department of Health Services. This permit is non-transferable. Should the Sweetwater Authority Water System undergo a change of ownership, the new owner must apply for and receive a new domestic water supply permit.

Please be careful about rattlesnakes if you go to Loveland. I went over one boulder for the first time, scrambling down to a fishing spot. I've seen a few, but this is the first time I've been between the water and the snake, and it's rattling. I never saw it because I scrammed away, as did the snake. I figured it was safe to fish once it hid.

People have beaten down trails, and fishing is more accessible than just a few months ago.

Hi Rusty.
It was yesterday at about 9:00 AM.
This hot weather makes it perfect for them to move around at night. So, the morning is dangerous because they may have yet to tuck themselves away for the day. Ideal temps make them pretty fast compared to too hot or too cold.

A long time ago just after getting down to the water I heard some ducks going crazy. It was a pair, chasing a rattler across the cove. It was early spring and water was cold, so the snake climbed up into a bush next to the bank and laid there sprawled out to warm up. Saw two more that day

That's a lot in one day. Once out by the buoy line, I flipped a rattlesnake in from the Alpine side with the tip of my rod, and it swam to the Jamul side!
Another freaky snake thing: I had a stringer of bluegill, and a team of water-loving snakes tried to eat them even when I picked the stringer up, and the fish were hanging by my knees!

Funny, Like retaliation by Sweetwater again? Maybe. I don't think so, though. LOL.

I had not heard; thank you.
If it were a significant transfer in the dry season and not closer to winter, I'd be surprised, but you never know.

Some Authorities have been moving Homeless and their belonging out of the Sweetwater Channel. This seems to add further confirmation to the rumor StinkyPInky and Camobass brought up.

I have a friend whose backyard the Sweetwater River goes through. He says they usually get a notice in writing, but that has not come yet.

It came very near to spilling over around June. Give or take.

I don't want to end up with my foot in my mouth,so I am not predicting anything, but It doesn't seem like a near-term drawdown would go into Catastrophic territory,
That's because they should want Sweetwater to max out at around 75% complete during the rainy season.

Here are the current storage situations.

Supervisor Anderson's office notified me that there would be no practical benefits from the Sunrise to Sunset Petition.

However, a few advocates and I have been offered a meeting after the November 5 elections, which we will attend. Meanwhile, we will monitor the situation and promote the progress of the Loveland fishing program.

Discussions with California Regulators about Sweetwater's compliance with toilet spacing are continuing. Sweetwater has been negligent on this sanitization term of their water permit for 20 years and doesn't want to comply with spacing, so they should put them where we want to fish and hike and make them more accessible or in areas where Sweetwater can maintain them and let us fish and hike, and nature watch there, too. Sweetwater deliberately withholds the toilets and has derailed the possible productivity of two recreation grants to discourage lake users' access in our 5-mile easement.

Been about 15 years since I've been down there. I had to get my buddy life flighted out after he fell off the rock cliff side. What a day that was.
I heard.they drained it a few times, can't imagine the fishing is as good as it was back in the day. 3 pounder min all day. Recently meet someone.atbwork who was talking about Loveland. Sparked my interest. Back before they had the floating docks, when the water was low, you could cross the beach to the other side. I had a bob cat jump out onto the trail in front of me. So many rattle snakes.
Hoping the reservoir returns to.its ol glory. May have to cruise up and take a hike down
