Yes thats the case early on at least. Not sure they hold you to that after say, noon. But the areas are pretty general…Main Lake, Pine, and Hauser.FishON wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 6:39 am For those of you in the know, is it true that you are "assigned" a fishing area? So you really don't get to fish around the lake?
Yes, this is true. First and foremost, it is a data collection trip. Areas are assigned in the morning so they are sure too cover the whole lake to get the data.FishON wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 6:39 am For those of you in the know, is it true that you are "assigned" a fishing area? What area did you fish? Any shad spotted?Queue wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 11:19 am 50-60 fish each day for me. Buzzbait, spinnerbait, chatterbait, jig, wobblehead w/ flappin hog, underspin & brass n' glass zipper grub all worked. 90% of the fish were 10-13" in moderate health, anything over 14" was not healthy. Too many bass in the lake.

And yes, the lake seriously needs a harvest of some sort. The good intentions of catch and release have proven repercussions.Queue wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 11:19 am 50-60 fish each day for me.
