Nice fish^^^^

Nice fish! I have caught thousands of bass out of Barrett and never got one over 6 lbs. this going back to the mid and late 80s in high school, when we would hike down by the honor camp. It was better that video game fishing. It was every cast for hours and you had your fill or until your thumbs were bleeding. So you guys all got me beat on Barrett quality.
One question...were those tungsten or lead weights you filled that 9 1/2 with? Can I use a magnet to catch that fish now? Just wait til someone filets that puppy.VinnyBass wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2024 7:42 amYou are sure doing better than I am this year...ha ha. The pic of the 4.75lb bass I caught at Miramar recently looks much bigger than the 2lb'ers
but it still weighed 4.75lbs., not 5lb, not 5 1/2lbs, or 6lbs. I guess I just like to be honest.
Heck, the 9 1/2 lb bass I caught at Sutherland a few years ago looked bigger in the pic
and even though I wanted it to be a 10lb bass and could have lied....I still posted it
what it actually weighed which was 9 1/2 lbs.
I wonder if being honest will get me into fishing heaven......ha ha.![]()

What year was this?
It would’ve weighed 11 pounds if I did that…Mcfish wrote: Sat Aug 10, 2024 8:56 amOne question...were those tungsten or lead weights you filled that 9 1/2 with? ..I'm sure being honest can't hurt your chances for the one way ticket!
Another example of the angle of camera can play the trick. From his photo without the scale the fish doesn’t look like 8lb unless he is a giant. He pull the fish too much pass his head and angle of camera almost at horizontal. Look at his tiny fist.
Happy Birthday, Scott. #droppinelbows
I had to pull the fish back to try and fit in the pic.Just_Bass wrote: Sat Aug 10, 2024 8:53 pmAnother example of the angle of camera can play the trick. We all long hand but mostly to make the fish look more realistic. The one that long hand and lie will try to hide hands as much as possible
Bottom line cannot trust the things we saw on internet.![]()

Whatup Dfishin! Yup, sometimes even 3 pounders are tough to fit into a selfie unless you pull them back.
