I love the motivation, drive, enthusiasm but lets be realistic here.....
Having a hard time walking the terrain of our local reservoirs @ 70+, but you're climbing fences with gear, & running from the sheriffs...

If I do a little tresbassing, I’m a criminal…But if I wanted, I could walk out of Albertsons with a cart full of stolen groceries with no consequences and be a TikTok hero.

I agree. Sheriffs have bigger fish to fry than someone fishing a golf course. There definitely won't be any running.

There was/is a local course that at times has had some epic fishing. Because of alot of pressure, they did a sporadic sprinkler cycle throughout the night on the shoreline. Made it difficult to fish. One night my buddy got blasted right in the groin point blank by a huge field sprinkler. Straight out of a cartoon. Hilarious but he was not feeling good. Ninja fishing is definitely getting more difficult these days with technology.
Points taken. Thanks for adding to my planning.
Need waders, groin cup and hooded rain jacket.
Maybe goggles.
I'm comin'.
I do not intend to be denied; though I see a fair amount of prep work ahead of any fishing.
Your buddy did well. Took one for the team. Kudos to any die hard.
Felt alone I was the only one who would do whatever necessary to find some accessible fresh water in SoCal.
Any chance you might PM me with the golf course you reference?
I am 100% catch and release.
Happy New Year,
Stephen
I'm rooting for you. Love the attitude. Hope you score!

(I'll g'head and be the one this time.........)
Beaches are flat. Freshwater bass gear works fine for bay bass.
And I'll also say this:
When it's a bit warmer (so you won't need waders), there are a lot of guys (myself included) who have spare float tubes and fins. If you hit a spot with minimal tide movement (Mariner's Basin), you might try float tubing. Some people with creaky knees that keep 'em from walking on uneven ground can get away with sitting in a tube and kicking in a leisurely manner without discomfort. If you want to give it a shot, post in the float tube section that you want to give it a try. I'd be happy to meet you on some warm sunny morning and bring a tube and fins for you. If it turns out your knees or back don't like tubing, no harm no foul.

If you feel like pushing your luck, there are always military bases:
Sign at Miramar. And there is a pond there. As at Pendleton.
