Ticket trader FAQs and rules

Post by admin »

This forum is provided as a means for you to exchange either whole, or partial spots on a Barrett ticket reservation between yourselves.

SDFish.org bears no responsibility in deals that you make.
It is your responsibility to protect your own interests when making a deal.

Reservation prices and Ticketmaster service fees may change.

This forum is provided as a way for you to exchange dates, recoup your money in the event that you cannot make the date that you had originally reserved, or recoup a portion of your ticket for available slots that you won't be using. This forum is not here for you to make money off the Barrett lake fishing hype.

While only 1 boat rental is available per ticket (and 4 anglers in one boat is crowded), anglers are also permitted to float tube, kayak, canoe (no motorized private watercraft) or fish from shore. Those are commonly referred to as "tube spots".
  • No scalping - As a seller you may not ask for more than the actual price of the ticket or portion of a partial ticket for tube spots, as listed above. It is OK to include Ticketmaster fees in the ticket price.
  • No bribing or sweetening the pot - As a potential buyer, you may not offer more than the above mentioned values.
  • Exchange of full tickets - Ticketmaster provides the city of San Diego with the name of the ticket holders and the dates they've made reservations for. The city provides that list to the lake staff, which uses the list to allow access into the lake. If the person who purchased the original reservation will not be attending, they need to call the city of San Diego at (619)668-2050 (Mon-Fri 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) at least 1 business day prior to notify them of the change and provide the name of the person who now holds the reservation. Only the name of the reservation holder is needed, not the additional 3 anglers allowed on the reservation.
  • Exchange of partial tickets - You must coordinate with the ticket holder the time they are entering the lake. Anglers are escorted into the lake at set times (5:00 AM and 7:00 AM), and all anglers entering on the same reservation must enter at the same time. So if the ticket holder is not going in until 7, you cannot enter until 7. If you're late for the 5:00 AM train in, you cannot enter without the ticket holder at 7. Also coordinate whether you'll be able to bring your vehicle into the lake. Reservations allow for up to 2 vehicles due to limited parking. If the original ticket holder is using both of those vehicle slots, you'll need to ride with someone else.

When you post something does the reply go to your email or does it come back to this site?

What's the deal with purchasing tickets and the date you "think" you purchased for isn't appearing anywhere?

Look at your ticket details in the mobile app. Only place it shows up.

What I've always done is simply exchange the names of the ticket purchaser along with a screenshot of the TM ticket (that includes date and order number). When you arrive at the lake you will check in with 1 of 2 people, either Lori or Jose. Give them the name on the ticket and you're good to go.
