New Year...New Goals...
Not really new, but I have been deleting a bunch of old photos, and looking at all the "I gotta get back there" spots...
Those two creeks up in the Cuyamacas.
That one creek up in Big Bear. And maybe that other creek, too.
Desert canals
Morena for cats Morena for spring bass
Morena for carp
Float tube the big water out near the new river park area in santee...
Barrett (maybe)
Take a float tube into that one local creek
Some longer day hikes out of Mammoth
Goals for the new year?
Keep an accurate fishing log. At least a list of what days fished, where, weather/tides, catch, what worked.
Catch a green bass, a carp and ANYthing on the fly outta the bay.
Relocate some of the dead brush that blocks some spots along that one creek.
Realllly focus on getting little bass out of the eelgrass.
If it's a wet winter, get a mullet from the creek Organize my gear.
Not buying something just because it's a screamin' deal. These were all screamin' deals. There's one in the pile that I haven't even used yet. Camo up and hit a few ninja/gray area spots for bigger bass
Give away or sell some gear. Garage sale, swap meet, goodwill.

When you learn to fish with both, you get even more screaming deals that open up to you

Ck, I'm in on the canals, morena, and creeks.
As you know I was a canal maniac for 4-5 years. Need to go back there this year. Many many great days and bad days out there.

Re: New Year...New Goals...
Catch fish from my Kayak in the bays, maybe offshore, halibut hopefully. I just got a trolling motor for it.
I just started fishing stocked trout to hang out with a new friend and it's more fun than I thought it would be, and the family will eat them....easy to do, easy to do with novices, cheap.
Will go to Barrett early in the season and more often if the lake stays in good shape. I usually wait until the crowds thin out in July, or so.

Fish with, and meet more fishing buddies. I have provbably fished with 200+ people off sdfish, but none lately.
I do it all, and I go every week. Hit me up. Usually fish from foot or tube, but Ive been know to fish from boats too.

Then we could then put that stuff and combine it with yours and my tackle into your HUGE garage that is bigger than
my house and open a much needed Tackle Shop in Ramona. It could be called MF/VB (McFish/VinnyBass)Warehouse. Of course we would give great deals to SDFish members and use "that other guy" ( @Fisheromen )as our Chief Financial Officer
because we can surely trust him with our money. Looking forward to a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
