La Ventana Dorado & Hurricane
Got back last week from a fly fishing trip to La Ventana. The dorado fishing was pretty good, but not spectacular. Sardinas were no where to be found, and the fish for the most part followed them. We ended up using ballyhoo, which worked to attract the fish, but not near as well as sardines. Still, we caught dorado every day and had fun. Friday evening we were getting checked out and ready to take a Saturday morning van ride to La Paz for our flight when we all got flight cancellation notices - hurricane Norma was supposed to head east below Cabo, but instead kept heading north and ended up going right over the top of us. Couldn't get a flight out until the next Tuesday. Exciting to say the least, and I spent the next two days with a shovel helping fix the resort roads and arroyo panga launch.

Re: La Ventana Dorado & Hurricane
Good for you in pitching in and helping the locals... I did the same, back a ways, with cat 5 Hurricane Ivan in Jamaica....
