Plenty of action today on the north jetty. Went out a few hours after low tide and stayed until the tide started falling.
Kelp bass, rock wrasse, perch, sculpin, and cabezon were attacking on every cast. We were throwing dropper loop rigs with shrimp on size 4 hooks, and within 10 seconds of the weight hitting the bottom, something was taking the bait. As usual, they were hanging out right next to the lowest rocks just a few meters out.
We also had great luck with some hookup bait lures tipped with a little bit of mackerel. Megabaits and spoons were completely ignored.
Most of them were too small to be worth keeping (including the sculpins, sadly), but there were some HUGE opaleye on the beach side.
