SD River 'Greengills'
Fished a few new holes and creek spots with sinking micro crankbaits. Caught 4 bluegill x green sunfish hybrids and 2 bass. Learning how to make my fish look larger in selfies! Lost 3 crankbaits, and found a lost rod and reel that had previously been submerged. Water levels in some pools have dropped that much.

Subtle differences between green sunfish and the bluegill x green hybrids, some guides online and iNaturalist community IDs.

Nice pics.
Those greenies will get after any other sunfish in the river.
If you wade too deep, they'll have a go at you as well.....

I went to Balboa Island and laid in the sand,
I may be ugly as hell but at least now I'm tan....

Those little guys a real purty... My grandson was catching them in a small OC rural creek... More of a drainage ditch...
