Re: Re: miramar
My buddy fishes Miramar a lot and he told me the water level is above the end of the boat ramp but not enough
to launch a boat as of yesterday. Kayaks and float tubes should not have a problem. Lake staff says by next week water level
should be back to normal.

I know you know a lot about Miramar, would the Bass be active after the rise of water or will it take awhile for them to acclimated?VinnyBass wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2026 6:32 am My buddy fishes Miramar a lot and he told me the water level is above the end of the boat ramp but not enough

Also I’ve seen some posts about Murray water levels lowered by you and is there a certain time they do it, what happens to the fishing?

Re: Re: miramar
The water at Murray was lowered for fireworks recovery on the 4th. I could never understand the thinking about that. The fishing there has never been the same for me. Its reduced now to 87ft for dam concerns. The fish are deeper and that makes it toughter for me with a flyrod. Im hoping for a good bite at Miramar with the water coming up.

Re: Re: miramar
The fish are feeding actively this time of year with the warm water so the rising water won't have much of an affect on the bass other than to likely move them shallower and back into the tules. The fish will follow the rising water, just as they move deeper when the water falls. If the water gets up into the tules, the fish will follow. if the water was already in them they will move deeper into the cover. Especially this time of year and in this heat, the flipping bite should good. With rising clear water you can usually find fish at both extremes. shallow in cover, or deep around structures and drop offs.vito1023 wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2026 7:15 am I know you know a lot about Miramar, would the Bass be active after the rise of water or will it take awhile for them to acclimated?
