Torrey Pines 08-21-2026
Fished from 6-9am with swimbait, but no bites. The water was very clear with very little seaweed in site. Saw several small stingrays while wading in about 2 feet of water. I noticed around 8am there were quite a few Corbina swimming just 20 feet in front of me. About 50 feet from shore. I grabbed my other rod from the car thinking I could catch something with the available sand crabs. I should have checked first because the crabs are the size of a BB. Way too small to hook. I did run into one guy who caught a yellowfin croaker on blood worms, but he said it was $10 for a dozen. That's just a little too steep for me. I'll wait for the sand crabs. On a side note, windnsea had decent size crabs last month. I guess I was expecting that to be the case at every beach.

Thanks for the report, TP had decent size crabs too last month, it was just inconsistent, one day they are there, the next day they are gone. And I have only seen micros recently. Weird year for sure.TravelingMatt wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 2:21 pm On a side note, windnsea had decent size crabs last month. I guess I was expecting that to be the case at every beach.
