Mammoth teaser...first trip of summer

I try to do twenty days a year in the Sierra, splitting them between summer and fall. I normally enjoy the fall trip the most because of less crowds and cooler water temps..plus Crowley fish tend to move shallower in Sept-Oct..! This trip started out fun, hit up Lake Mary, caught some pretty fish and didn't have to fish to deep. I caught all fish on the fly, pulling black leeches with hares ear or pheasant tail trailers. Crowds didn't seem bad at all for the middle of summer...where is everyone?

There’s too many beautiful things to do around here, that’s another item on my fishing bucket list. Gotta take my float tube up there and do some camping with my kids! Thanks for sharing the photos!

I'm up in Truckee doing the same thing, except the water is too warm everywhere so its full speed small mouth bass fishing
