Barrett newbie

Post by jfchevy21 »

making my first trip to Barrett next week. not looking for spots, just ideas about colors to use. i plan on bringing some chatterbaits, topwater, and sof tplastics, but not sure what color plastics to bring. got the standard colors like green pumpkin, watermelon and baby bass senkos and several flavors of roboworms. just dont want to drag the entire arsenal down there if i dont need to. probably going to try and limit myself to 4-6 rods.

as described, you are well prepared. crimp your barbs. look for rocky points and fish in the 15-20 ft range to avoid moss. small light colored keitech minnows and 1/20 oz trd ned rigs have been doing well for us lately. benefit of those is bluegill and crappie will go after them also.

Not to hijack OB’s reply but we have been throwing various shades of whites, pearls, ghosts, greys, silvers out there for years. See two versions here.

no worries, the color help is appreciated. i have a small kietech mold, will pour some up this weekend in a silver/grey sort of scheme similar to those and will try it out.

Well hijacked, those were the exact colors. Apologies for the late reply, was travelling and not checking the forum.
