went local fishing off o'side yesterday...paid my $60 for bait( threw up in my mouthLOL) for a mix of sardines and macs
hit the barn kelp first not much happening there so we headed off to the yellowtail kelp where we hada a nice pic on calicos for several hours until we used most of the bait...(fly lining) after that drifted halibit caught a few shorts then used squid drifting...we kept catching sandabs in as shallow as 40 ft. they were everywhere! finally ...at the golf ball i hooked into something large... I only had a shimano calcutta TE 400...and was nearly spooled 3-4 times..we chased it with the boat for over 30 min (and 1/2) mile till it came unbuttoned...neer could get it close (probably tail hooked thressher or BSB) thats the report weather water 68-70 small swells flat until 9;00 then steady winds variable to 10 knots. Good luck out there

Re: oside report
Just moved here/Oceanside, any chance you help me identify "the barn?" Is it right in front of the LCAC/hovercraft garages. Maybe a mile or offshore? If I could locate all of the places you mentioned that would be great.
