Curado E series
Anyone got a fix for the older E series Curado knob on the handles replacement? Sticky looking to replace. Had them all serviced only issue is the knob stickiness.

I wrapped my sticky knobs with finger tape.

It's oozing plasticizer out of the plastic, much like a plastic worm will do in enough time. Clean it up with something abrasive like baking soda, lava soap or scouring powder. Citrus based solvent or acetone may also help, isopropyl alcohol may not be strong enough.

Other approach is just to buy new handles.

Re: Curado E series
I've dealt with this many times both on curados and toriums. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find an answer. I've tried alcohol, acetone, ultrasonic detergent bath, goo-gone... nothing worked. Least to mostly costly fix - cover the knobs, replace the knobs, replace the handles.
Oh and if you replace the knobs, the center screw may be a left-handed thread.

Re: Curado E series
When I was fishing yesterday, I noticed that years ago I had repaired a knob on a Shimano spinning reel with a similar problem. I remember that I cleaned it up with acetone and then coated it with clear epoxy. It seems to be holding well.
