Upper Bay for a change....

Float tubes are a convenient and affordable way to get on the water, and finally get to those fish that you can't reach from shore. Discuss float tubes, outfitting float tubes for fishing, and float tube fishing.

Upper Bay for a change....

Post by Carpkiller »

Not my first time up there, and I had a plan. Had I stuck to it...might have got more fish.

Step one..be there at sunrise. Step two..don't go deep.

I went right to step 3. Got 8 spotties on various plastics. Better size than the South Bay rats.

The big one was nearly 15 inches, but didn't get a decent pick.

And you know how some fish won't pose with their fin up....and they look tiny when your big fat hand's in for foreground? Like this sweetheart...

Here it is on the apron. This chode was was a solid foot long.

Probably the heaviest foot-long spotty I've ever caught.

Happy trails.....

Can tell from the head shape how beastly that fish in first photo is. Nicely done.

You can get anything you want
At Alice's restaurant...
Exceptin' Alice...

Did better today. The sunrise bite did not materialize for me...but the last third of the outgoing tide worked. I was sorta where I was supposed to be, as were the fish.

So was this guy, who tried to get into the tube with me. He gave up after three fish.

Ended w 22 sbb, one tiny sandy. The spotties were assorted sizes, one 14 incher.

Here's Alice.

The bite was good when the sun was out. Afternoon clouds rolled in and the plastics weren't working. Switched to a chatterbait and got a couple more.
