Murray 5-17 finally got one
Went out this afternoon to apply a new approach. Super windy and probably not optimal conditions, but got this.

Congratulations...and under very tough weather conditions. Drove by the lake today and it did not look very appealing. Glad you were able to nail one! Hopefully your next trip will have better weather and you will be nailing more bass. Thanks for sharing and tight lines.Learning to fish wrote: Sun May 17, 2026 7:45 pm Went out this afternoon to apply a new approach. Super windy and probably not optimal conditions, but got this. Re: Murray 5-17 finally got one
Went through my baits and worked on making jigs for more picky fish. Painted jig-heads and everything. Also realized that I was always expecting to find fish around vegetation, because the bottom seemed like a swimming pool. I decided I need to search until I found something on the bottom that could hold fish and stop fishing like I was in Florida or something. Actually got a few good strikes and a solid hookup. lt was kind of small, but I was happy to finally beat the Murray Skunk.
