5/9 report

Post by BreezyB »

Headed down hauser first thing and found them stuck to sticks and rocks. Caught a few on the popper, underspin, and the jerkbait. Found the key this weekend was to keep moving and fishing and not setting up in one spot. Boat of 3 ended up with 120.
Drop shot, craws, senkos were the afternoon special to keep them biting.

Thanks for the insight I’ve heard varying reports but this is consistent! On the tube I can’t move to far but with the drill paddle I think I can mange to do alright with the bfs

Worm was the deal for me. Didn’t spend a lot of time throwing anything else cause I was getting bit. Not as many as at the last charity prefish a couple weekends ago but still a very good morning. Only thing missing was quality, most of my fish were 12-14”. Biggest probably 2.5. Wilson and Hauser.

Thank you for the report! Was there any decent sizes to the numbers you guys caught? I was there on opening day and ended with close to 40 but only about three of them were 3 lb or bigger. Everything else was dinks, not even the standard Barrett clones, but small fish. I'm hoping that was the rains fault the day before. I'll be there Wednesday again. Hope it was a fluke!

So Sunday we decided to compete with an old fashioned best-5 tournament. Not about numbers/all about weights. And it was really kinda sad and we even fished deep much of the time. I took honors but with a 1.37lb average with a 2.4 kicker SMH. So far its not a fluke but the bigguns are out there, just hiding.

Video I shot Saturday out at Barrett. Camera died around 10AM so I only got the first few hours of the day.
