Early Barrett Report 2026
It’s charity season at the Big B and was fortunate to get on the water yesterday. Some things never change and the bite was classic Barrett. We were mostly fishing worms and jigs on the bottom and it was very steady until we pulled the lines out at noon, getting 78 between us. We got a few on minnows including several healthy crappie. Others passing by were hitting them on a variety of baits including reactions like jerkbaits, chatters, and spinnerbaits. There were several comments that the fish were smaller models but a few tanks were caught, just not by us where our biggest were in the 3lb class. The new G3’s are very spacious and seem to run faster/smoother than the old. It’s going to be another great year but the lake does need some water having dropped a few more feet since it closed in 2025.

Thanks for the report. I assume you fished your regular spots? Can't wait to start going. After your trip are you thinking more about the Autoboat?

Re: Early Barrett Report 2026
It was truly a great day. I found a whole bunch on different bottom contact stuff. Jig, Neko, Thin Senko, Lizard and Free Rig all caught for me. Loving the new Terrova on my Kayak, spot lock is a game changer!
Was awesome to see and fish with everyone! Man I love Barrett!

Just how did all of you guys get to access pre-season fishing? I’m stoked for you, but also incredibly envious! Looks like a fantastic day.

There are a few charity events out there now in March/April. Not cheap! Tell Theo to change his line for the new season and get ready…we all have high expectations for himShawnster wrote: Mon Mar 23, 2026 10:37 am Just how did all of you guys get to access pre-season fishing?
