3/2- Back to the SD River
I was inspired today to spend a few hours this morning down at the SD River thanks to fellow SDFish member @tomnilll.I have not been fishing much at all and needed a nice kick in the rear which @tomnilll has provided with some recent posts and nice bass he has landed. Not much to say, but landed 2 bass out of 3 bites as the water is still pretty darn muddy. Still very glad to be out fishing and tossing lines again....Yay! It's funny as the river is kryptonite to @Mcfish ....ha ha
Thanks @tomnilll and tight lines.

Re: 3/2- Back to the SD River
Fishing a small body of water can be tough, but very rewarding also as you know.
That’s why we go back to accept the challenge again.

Great job always curious whether you ever get skunked?
Can you explain your set up on the second picture? Is it glass beads? I understand the concept but yours looks a little different than what I’m used to seeing.
Again, great job

(many big ones)from shore only. I have been skunked all those times. The beads are on a Tokyo rig that I rig up myself. I use different size weights and usually black or red beads to make a little sound while I am flipping it into cover. @Dfishin hit it one the head. Vito, many guys used beads with brass weights years ago on Carolina rigs for the same purpose to make a little clicking sound.

I do wear Thorlo socks which aren't that cheap, so some may consider that stylish,Big C wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2026 9:49 am Probably the most stylish and accomplished angler on the river.

Some of the biggest bass I caught last year to over 6 lbs were caught from shore. I was in my kayak this time.

I use to be on the shorepounders on the previous site before it changed to this one.
It was pretty cool, were you in the that club?
