Fish Dope?

Post by Rickwy »

Do any of you use Fish Dope App and if so is it worth it. It seems like it might be useful and also a little price at 199 per year.

I use it and it is sort of useful but a lot of key info is held back and you get the regurgitated bite report a few days late when it's not as on fire as it was before. There is a lot of good info on there if you plan on using it for inshore fishing but the offshore relay and islands bite is the issue. I've had it for a couple of years but don't plan on renewing my subscription, the best info on the bight is by making friends and getting info from them

Thanks.
I live in Jackson Wyoming and plan on hauling by boat to SD first two weeks of June, staying at Campland on the Bay. I have not fished these waters since I lived there as a kid. I thought this might give me a better idea than me just going out and trying spots

Are you sticking to the bay and inshore or are you looking to possibly run for the early showing signs of tuna?

If you're sticking to inshore and bays you are better off just buying the area (if you don't already have it) of Navionics for your FF/Combo and reading the contours and marked areas that they provide with user uploads. You can also just skip it and explore it on your phone too, but I don't think it'll track your location when using the free explore version when you're out on the water.

Here's a link to some things you can use to help aid your fishing adventures;

https://www.c-map.com/chartexplorer/ --Zoom in on the area and click on "shaded relief-seafloor layer"
https://maps.garmin.com/en-US/marine/?m ... ugbczzdxk2 --Navionics
https://cdip.ucsd.edu/m/products/?stn=2 ... ram=waveHs --Realtime wave and water temp (click on other buoys for info)
https://hdontap.com/stream/018408/scrip ... ve-webcam/ --See what the water is looking like
