San Felipe

Post by Eg3210 »

It's a different surf then most we usually post about, so I'm not sure if this is the right section, but it is still surf fishing.
Anyway I'm here for a couple days and looking for some suggestions.
Got in the better part of two hours during the receding high tide.
Used salted shrimp on a carolina rig with a number 6 mosquito hook and did fine, two puffer fish (a first for me), two small rays and a couple corbina. Had a great time.

But I'm always interested in improvement. Anybody have any recommendations?

Head down to puertecitos just south of you. That’s where the fishing starts to really pick up. Felipe was always like trying to fish a desert for me.

Find deeper, rockier water... Should be triggers and huachinangos if you can find some depth by the rocks
