Another lake checked off, Dixon version

Post by tomnilll »

Only 1 fish, not too shabby at jist over 3 lbs. More importantly this is the first bass i have caught there, so my lake skunk is gone! Lots of walking and 1 bite, 1 fish...I may not return.

Good job.

See any 23 pounders swimming around there?

I have, but it's been years! ;/0

I did see one that looked to be about 20 lbs, but it was a carp! Swam right up to me on the bank...

When I first saw Dottie I too thought it was a giant carp, till she went down on my jig and turned sideways, showing me a white belly the size of a basketball, instead of a gold one. ;/0

Dixon is loaded w great bass but bankfishing has gotten harder and harder for access. So its rental boats and good luck staying in the zone without anchoring. And lighter line a must with the gin clear water. Years ago did well fishing the more translucent plastics in San V colors.

Haven’t fished there in decades, but caught a number of bass on plastic worms, but nothing
huge. Water was so clear you tend to find yourself looking in the water for bass instead of just fishing.
