South SD Bay 12/04

Post by crabbypaddy »

Hit the south bay this morning and fished the big tide. Friend and I got about 70 spotties. Caught them on 1/4 and 3/8 jigheads and MC Swimbaits. Most fish came in less than 12 feet of water.

That’s some good fishing. Boat/tube/kayak? Any specific areas that produced better?

Sounds like they are hanging in the warmest water in the Bay. Meanwhile the big Sand Bass are out near the mouth of the Harbor, Chillin with the Halibut.

Fishing from a boat. We caught most of our fish drifting the flat out from the Cays. Got some in the cove at Silver Strand also.
