Mussel free sticker

For boat owners and prospective buyers to talk about owning and operating boats, as well as maintaining, repairing and rigging them. Also a place to discuss fishing boat makes and models.

Mussel free sticker

Post by Dramad1 »

Hoping someone can help.
I registered my vessel, dmv gave me my sticker, told me i had to buy my own cf #'s elsewhere and that they don't provide them anymore.
I asked about the mussel free sticker for fresh water lakes. They stated I need to order 1 off there website. So i went on the website, found the sticker, ordered it, paid the $16.00. A month and a half later, still no sticker.
I then called the dmv, was placed on hold several times 10-20mins each time. The return to the line stating that they have no control over the sticker and it's sent from a boating outfit? They couldn't tell me which one exactly and that I needed to wait longer. I then asked how long do I need to wait and what if it doesn't show up ever. The dmv took the money I sent them for the sticker. The then placed me on hold again for around 15mins, returned to the line and said I would get a call back by 5pm. Call never came.
Is there any place I can go In person to buy this sticker? How did you get your mussel free sticker and how long did it take. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

IO bought my replacement recentlty from the DMV online and it came in less than two weeks. Sorry, you didn't have the same luck. I got my first one when I register the Kayak from one of those little stores you find around town. They can't all get it , The better ones can. I am not sure if they have them onsite or if it still comes in the mail with their help.

Not sure if AAA club (if you’re a member) can help out.

I get my boat tags there on the spot and they share the same system with the DMV.

For me, it’s worth the price of the membership for my other vehicle’s registration tags, no lines and no need to make an appointment.

Plus if you ever need a short tow, but I paid extra for the 100 mile towing service, which came in handy twice over the years.
