Mussels were the bait of the day, 10+ perch reeled in of varying sizes covering everything from 2” to 12”. Most were in the medium range of 7”-8”.
The tide report says the peak morning low was 2.9’ but it sure felt lower than that even an hour before the peak. It was far enough out that rocks and shells were being exposed. The bite dried up around 8:00 and by then the tide was out and the water was barely moving. I enjoyed watching a paddle board surfer and someone out farther on an electric surfboard looking thing as I walked back to the car. I do enjoy the incredibly low tides, it’s as if nature is pulling back the curtains on what’s under our ocean, even if it’s less ideal for our purposes.
Hope everyone has a chance to get out there in the next 5-7 days, the king tide is on its way!
