11/06 Mission Beach
6:00 am till 8:00 am. Caught 7 Perch. The bite was crazy right From the start. Two of the fish Were caught as soon as the bait hit the water ,on the drop. It did not get that bad. It was kind of cool watching the tide come out that. I would walk out and cast as the water is receding and then I will hustle back up for shore. Sometimes it was just flat. I use the 6-in leader, so no tangles, and a weedless hook with sandworms. I went through a lot of sandworms they kept biting the tail end off. Do not be afraid of the Moon tide get out there. The only problem was the high tide was picking up all the seaweed from the shore and putting it in the water. Last fish was caught around 7:45 am. Pictures of the biggest and the smallest.

Looks like fun out there. On a good bite you can throw Trout Spoons and Spinners at them. With that treble hook back there you hook mostly every bite. This can really add to your numbers plus the Hardware Perch seem to average a little bigger. Good choices are Roostertails, Small Kastmasters and Krocodiles. The small Jerkbaits are good too.

Thanks for the information. I have kastmasters from my trout days.Bendo wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:05 pm Looks like fun out there. On a good bite you can throw Trout Spoons and Spinners at them. Re: 11/06 Mission Beach
Nice! It's always fun when you land that cast directly into a fish's mouth, haha.
The tide is cool to see, for sure. When I first pulled up Monday I was surprised at how calm it was... until I realized it was because the tide was already up the slope of the beach into the soft sand part! It was like the world's largest swimming pool. The negative tide is fun to see as well with all the dips and nooks and crannies.
