El Cap Oct 28 report
Had a couple nice days lately at El Cap. Air in the early morning is cool/cold, but the water temp is still upper 60s F. Poked around along the shore and picked up a few nice fish with the usual suspects for me, a popper, a floating Rapala and a little swim jig I have been playing with. Wind hasn't been too bad. This past Tuesday there was a bit of wind around 0930-1000 and then it went away. The weekend had a stretch of miserable wind early that also gave way to a clear smooth day with minimal wind. Saturday was not a productive day for me though. Going to Otay this weekend to see what we can find there. Tight lines.

Re: El Cap Oct 28 report
That's exactly the wind forecast windy.com gave for the area on Tuesday. Picking up for a bit mid morning and then back to 3 kt or less. I know because I was planning on going and this crazy little thing called work got in the way=( No one will ever lay on their death bed and say I wish I would have worked more! Need to practice what I preach. Glad someone got out there.
Nice job out there and thanks for the report! Good luck at Otay and looking forward to that report=D

Good to see you out whacking some Public Bass. They are the same fish, just hit harder from above. A little refined technique and you are Yaking Bass with the best of them. See you on the water…

Re: El Cap Oct 28 report
I’ve been avoiding posts about el cap because I miss it so much, pretty much the only lake I have fished for the past 4 years. I can’t wait for the day that launch ramp is accessible again. I’ll never take a day of catching 3-4 lbrs for granted ever again. The other lakes don’t even come close to el cap.
