Mission Beach 10/26

Post by jwacky »

Pretty much a copy & paste from yesterday at Mission/Pacific Beach.

I moved a bit more than usual today, no particular reason other than feeling like doing so. Caught a tiny perch early close to the pier and worked my way south. Brought in 7-8 perch on the day, including one keeper than I just finished eating for lunch 🤤

Some kelp/grass. Some currents that seemed to be swirling a little more than yesterday. Bite was slow but picked up as the tide came in. I was fishing from 6:30 until about 10:00 and caught most of the fish (all perch) in the final hour. The perch preferred the camo sandworms today, and adding bits of shrimp seemed to help.

All in all a decent weekend of fishing! Would be nice for the tide to calm down a bit but perhaps that’s a seasonal thing and should be expected for the winter? I haven’t paid much attention to the surf until this year.

Ha! Not many things taste better than a fish sandwich made from something you caught an hour ago.
