Morena Anyone?

Post by Johnnylh »

Hey,
Has anyone fished Morena this year? I haven't seen a report posted about the lake in a minute, nor have I fished there. I do want to check it out though. Any info would be much appreciated,
Thanks
Johnny

I did see a post about Morena on the SD Bass fishing Facebook group that they are lowering the lake and there is a large fish die off.

I live here, it's a mess. Not only are they draining it again they don't even care to do it correctly. They have been draining it too quickly not giving the fish a chance to acclimate so the die off is huge. They have stirred up the lake causing an algae bloom and since the lake has no aeration it will most likely be a long term event killing whatever fish remain. We are off the map for who knows how long. (Yes, I am furious)

What’s funny is the vibe from those who are “running” the lake do a much better job than any of the other lakes. Like they’re a cut above. TF outta here
