Phenix M1 Inshore Question
Hey everyone, was looking at a new casting rod and keep hearing mixed reviews on Reddit about the M1 Inshore and how they’ve snapped the rod from just casting. Is this a prevalent problem with the M1 Inshore rods?

Re: Phenix M1 Inshore Question
I’ve had expensive phoenix’s break on first hook sets. Defect in the glass. It can happen on any rod. I still like my phenix’s. I have an older M1 that has been a solid, heavy duty but light rod. The warranties aren’t free any more but they still warranty the rod for the lifetime you own it. I believe there is a manufacturers defect warranty too within the first “so many” days. If you buy the rod local like at EBCT for example and you have a fluke failure out of the box, they will usually hand you a new replacement free. That’s a perk for buying/supporting your local tackle shop vs buying online and having to deal with the grey area warranties.
Take online reviews with a grain of salt. Who knows how the rod was handled before the failure, they could have slammed the rod into something, “casted” an 8 ounce weight, shut the rod into a car door lightly…the list goes on and on.
