Anyway, it was nice to get out on the water again and can't wait till this heatwave is gone.
Finicky top water bass and very hot weather do not mix well with this old guy.....ha ha.

Tight lines
I will spare you and just post one pic
You are right that 8 bass is better than no bass.Fisheromen wrote: Wed Sep 03, 2025 9:25 pm I dropped a setup in the lake last Friday and got it back! Definitely worth the try!
Vinny, 8 bass better than no bass! You're just spoiled!

I've now caught dozens of bass on my cheap Chinese mini walking bait. Lots in the 3 pound range and the best was over 6 pounds . Believe it or not, it still has the original hooks on it lol.VinnyBass wrote: Thu Sep 04, 2025 7:30 amYou are right that 8 bass is better than no bass.Fisheromen wrote: Wed Sep 03, 2025 9:25 pm I dropped a setup in the lake last Friday and got it back! I was so hot and miserable when I got home as
my house was like an oven and after putting everything away I think if affected my report.
i am still amazed that baits I used in the past for topwater that caught bass so often lately at
Murray have no affect. I talked to a couple guys and they said the same thing on finicky the bass have been this year on topwater baits.Anyway I guess I was pretty lucky just to get some bass and also had a couple of surprises.
Out of the blue, I tossed an A-rig for a few minutes for a small bass

...and found this LC Pointer
(no @Mcfish it is not yours as the bait is not 1.5 inches long)..ha ha

Dan….it was just a tough day. It would’ve been nice if I had that bait you talked about as maybe I would’ve maybe had a more productive day. After seeing some of your baits in person, they look pretty darn good.Dannicus wrote: Fri Sep 05, 2025 7:07 amI've now caught dozens of bass on my cheap Chinese mini walking bait. When I bought mine from AliExpress a couple of years ago they were under $3 including shipping. They have more than doubled in price with tariffs, so I am glad I picked up a couple of them, although the original is beat up it's still going strong. It is by far my favorite cheap bait for BFS topwater, and rivals my best Lucky Craft baits for my favorite all time. Even at it's increased price it still costs about half as much as JDM baits.
