Fished an Elsinore Derby on Sat. It is a 5 species tournament, lmb, wipers, catfish, carp and crappie. Conditions were horrible strong winds and freezing. My cousin brought his little boat out from San Diego. It was extremely difficult to fish, the wind was blowing us around like crazy. I couldn't catch anything. When I usually fish Elsinore from shore I usually catch a ton of carp and big wipers, could not catch one today. So all I ended up catching was a tiny crappie a little bigger than a quarter.
At the end of the tournament it was embarrassing weighing it. Everybody had huge catfish and wipers. But the good news is I was the only one in the derby with a crappie. I ended up 1st, 2nd, 3rd and side jackpot for crappie. Plus a 100 dollar Turner's gift card and a bag full of gear.
