Pacific Beach 8/14
A short late AM session just south of pier. Clean water, better than expected conditions, tide incoming at about 4' at 10 am. Lug worms & mussel the bait of choice today. Good perch bite, best 2 hits turned out to be 2 guitar fish, both around 2'. 6 perch in the mix, all 6-8". Called it at 11:30 as had other matters to attend to. Probably my shortest session this year but good conditions and a steady bite so enjoyed it for what it was.

Nice session, so you didn’t use any crabs? Were there any on the beach? I’ve been thinking I should try my luck.

Re: Pacific Beach 8/14
There were crabs but not massive beds everywhere. Not hard to find but had to do some searching to find any soft shells and I didn't want to spend the time when I knew I was on a short window to fish. Think I got 1 or 2 of the perch on crabs.vito1023 wrote: Fri Aug 15, 2025 6:55 am Nice session, so you didn’t use any crabs? Were there any on the beach? I’ve been thinking I should try my luck.
