Couldn't get a frog bite, Caught them on a crank, jig, Huddleston weedless grass minnow, and worm. I talked to a guy in a yak as we were leaving who said he caught over 20 on a ned rig. I guess I shoulda tried that! Still, it was a beautiful day, and hell...I was fishing so I'm not really complaining

El Cap 8/5
I've been seeing all your posts about the El Cap bite. I decided to give it a try. I managed a mere 6 clones in 7 hours. All of them looked pretty much like the one in the picture. Musta come from the same litter.

Re: El Cap 8/5
Thanks for the report, I was out there Monday evening and got a few on the buzz frog but that bite is basically dead now. Spent hours casting the bank for 3 measly clones lol. Got a dink on drop shot and had to head for the launch. The iron ranger had a note that said exit time was 7:20 but I noticed none of the boats were coming in. Is it more boats off the lake by sunset there? I didn’t want to be that guy so I didn’t risk it but I’d take that extra 30 mins of fishing.
Also, haven’t fished cap much so I’ve never seen that water inflow over by the dam, anyone have any info on how that works? I was marking big schools chasing bait over there and there were a few boats picking off the occasional fish but they were picky. Sorry for the ramble just had my coffee lol

Re: El Cap 8/5
My son works for helix and says they put it in and it's to get the water to turn over. They are going to do a lot more aeration at Jennings as they are going to be piping in treated water and want it to flow around the lake.
