Mission Bay on the tube

Float tubes are a convenient and affordable way to get on the water, and finally get to those fish that you can't reach from shore. Discuss float tubes, outfitting float tubes for fishing, and float tube fishing.

Mission Bay on the tube

Post by CBFishes »

I went out with a buddy for my first time on a tube. I bought a cheap one (go plus) to start. The seat was so damn uncomfortable! Are they normally this bad? I was looking at the outcast models, are those any better?

Regardless, beautiful day on the water, we fished the docks and I caught a handful of SBB. I was using a crush city free loader, killer bait! Mimicked the bait fish perfectly.

Yeah the seats usually suck, inflatable ones like in the higher end fish cat area bit better. Sometimes just gotta find a beach and get out to walk around for a bit.

The Outcast float tubes are very comfortable, whether the Fish Cat or Super Fat Cat and whether foam or inflatable seats. I can fish 14 hours straight at Barrett without a problem.

The Crush City baits are nice too. I especially like the BLT on a Ned head.

Carpkiller has some Cumberland tubes he will sell you cheap. Not as nice as the Outcast in my opinion but less $ and he can sit in them all day without complaining (about the tube, that is).

That's what I was hoping for! I was able to buy an Outcast Fat Cat from FB for $200, in great shape. I'll be taking it out Monday!

I put a throw float cushion on the seat to sit on. Plus a little more safety.
