4/29- Lake Miramar AM Session

Post by VinnyBass »

Grabbed some gear and tossed it in my kayak and headed away from Murray and up to Lake Miramar this morning.
Not a real early start as I was on the water just before 7 and saw only one other angler fishing in a float tube. The water was glassy and nothing broke on the surface so I went to my usual reaction baits. Lots of long casts and things were pretty quiet so I later moved in a little tighter and picked up a couple small bass on plastic worms. Went out to deeper water and picked up some more bass, mostly clones on plastics. Then was able to entice a bass on a small underspin and pulled in another
bass on a heavier blade bait. I keep forgetting it is still April, but there should be some topwater probably in about a month or so and a better reaction bait bite during the summer. It was a peaceful morning and was able to land 11 bass, nothing that big, but still more fun than staying home. :-)

Just a few pics:

Water level is high.
I am assuming it may have been higher looking at the lines on the tulles....but it is plenty high
from my experiences fishing there. :-)

Hahaha...he's never been locked in on one bait for more than 3 casts in his entire life!!!! Even if he catches 3 fish on 3 casts...he'll still change lures!
If he actually threw the same bait on 4 consecutive casts..I would take him to the E.R. because he's not well!

Thanks Dan…but you my man, know how to fish.
Every time I’m at Murray and you are there, all I see is you pulling in another fish.
Hey, by the way, I really enjoyed checking out your BFS gear the other day when I stopped by Murray. I can’t believe how light those rods were with the reels. I think four of your rods are still lighter than one of my bass rods and reels… ha ha
Tight Lines always buddy :-)

Yeah, but you still out fish the heck out of me!
Why do you think I come over and follow you around at the lake of D&K? So I could just talk to you? :-)

“It’s a blessing and a curse.”
That quote came from an old TV show called Monk that I used to watch all the time.
You should see the bottom of my kayak then I’m done fishing with all the different types and colors of baits and worms etc. laying around all over the place. I usually just grab a Ziploc and throw everything in there to sort through later. :-)

The water level is way high, the ends of the staircase that go down to Mo's hole on either side are submerged

Miramar is closed the first Tuesday of each month so they should be open. Tight lines to you.

There was just one other guy in a float tube besides me on the lake the other day, so be sure to go early to avoid the
crowds if there are 2 others besides yourself trying to take your fishing spot.....ha ha
Just messing with ya.

ImageFound a kayak and float tuber on the water. Late start for me, got on the water by 11am.
About 30mins in instarted to get on them. Landed 7, 2 broke me off and missed a few.
After 1pm. I didn't see anyone on the water or docks. Had the lake to myself. Forgot how to post pics.
