Pacific Beach Update
Got out to PB on Tuesday this week. Tide was about an hour coming in off the earlier -0.1 low; water temp was probably about 58. Found a decent hole straight out from PB Drive (about 1/4 mi south of pier). Started with a jerk bait for hali's but too much salad, mostly heavy grass. Before going to a weedless swimbait, decided to switch set ups and go with my c-rig armed with mussel. No action whatsoever for 45 minutes of working the hole and both sides. The heavy grass was making it nearly impossible to fish so made a move up to just south of the pier. Much better conditions, just light grass but still nothing biting. No sand crabs, just micros under the pier, too small to get on even the smallest of hooks. Made one more move to work north side of pier but nothing happening there either so bailed after just a hour and half on the sand. Another 0 for !

Re: Pacific Beach Update
Thank you for the update... It's not too long before we do our week at the pier... You guys need to snag all of that grass and get it out of my way, so I'll have clear sailing (Fishing) when I come down.
... I sure hope PB treats me as well as it has in the past... I sure enjoy reading your post waiting for the trip.. Thanks.. And sorry about the goose egg...

Re: Pacific Beach Update
I cleared it all out for you this morning Butch, real good conditions, low surf, temp about 60 on an ebbing tide. Unfortunately, still no action, just a few soft bites around mid tide. Still micro crabs under the pier. I'm sure they'll show up and the bite turn on when you get here ! So can you do it ASAP !

Sorry it's not gonna be "asap".. Still a few weeks away... But, please, keep removing the salad, as I have no use for it.Perch killer wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 12:00 pm I cleared it all out for you this morning Butch, real good conditions, low surf, temp about 60 on an ebbing tide.
